After the storm

The clouds began zipping the holes that let out rain. The heavens began to keep silent after hours and hours of loud roars of thunder while the sun began shoveling itself in the sky after his brief sleep.

Martin breathed loudly and deeply after he stirred the wheel of his balloon. He couldn't believe that he was able to survive something as devastating as that storm. As he looked across the valley, he saw the entire city of Jlockwirk, all gray and dreary, like the look on his wife's face when he began his journey. All the while, he was expecting something magical like the tales of the old men from the council. Now, dulled by what happened, he reached for his pockets and took out a small pouch. He shaked it several times and after a few minutes of rigorous shaking he tossed it up in the balloon, and a light blue flame flickered and his airship suddenly moved like the wind.
